New Support group in Tampa

I am new to Tampa Florida, I just moved here from Baltimore Maryland 7 months ago. I am looking to see who would be interested in joining a new support meeting.



I am looking to start a WLS support group in Tampa. I have done support meetings in the past in Maryland and it was a great time. I have done motivational speaking at several hospitals in Baltimore about WLS. It is a great way to network, meet new people that have had WLS and most important it would be support. This would be a FREE support meeting for anyone that is post-op, pre-op or just thinking about WLS. This would be for ANY WLS, RNY, Band, etc......... For Men and Woman. I myself have worked in the medical field for 21 years and have lots of knowledge about WLS, and if I don't have an answer someone else in support will OR we will get the right answer.



At this point I have about 10 people that are interested. This would be held in Tampa on Thursdays evenings unless there is a better day everyone can agree on.



The meetings would consist of meet and greet time, topics and possible outings to local markets and/or restaurants to learn how to socialize but pick the right food choices. This is not limited to any topic and suggestions are fabulous.

We would like to Welcome you to Bay Area Weight Loss Surgery Support. This is a support group located in Tampa Florida.Our local meetings are open to anyone who has either had or is thinking about having weight loss surgery of any kind.

Our main goal is uniting weight loss surgery patients from around the Tampa Bay are...a; supporting each other by sharing ideas and information, and forming a local weight loss surgery community, focused on a healthy active life.

We are very excited about meeting everyone and getting to know each others WLS world. We are open to all suggestion and topics of concerns at our meetings. We look forward to learning new and old things.

One really exciting thing about this group and where it is held, it has a full restaurant style kitchen. So we can learn to cook together and healthier. That is just one of the most exciting things we have planned for this support group.

Our First support group meeting will be announced soon. Stay tuned..........

it sounds like u have all the qualities that a support group needs to get started

Thank you my Anna, My hope is that Steve will also join in. I am sure he will and the fact that he is almost 6 years post-op he can really give some input and from the male stand point. This is going to be a good thing.

 I am almost a year out, I would be interested.  I just moved here in August to Gulfport from Wisconsin.  I'm down a lot but could use some help staying motivated.
